Leonidas is the second coin of the series called “Great Commanders”
He was a warrior king of the Greek city-state of Sparta, and the 17th of the Agiad line; a dynasty which claimed descent from the mythological demigod Heracles and Cadmus
Reverse
The Spartan king Leonidas, is in full battle attire with his army behind him, and a few Persian warriors in front. Please note that the renders show bright red colouring, the finished coin is claimed to have red-gold gilding, which should look a little more subtle in reality.
